Welcome to the Community Corrections Council website

Legislative Bill 390 was passed by the legislature and signed into law by the Governor on May 26, 2011. This legislation eliminates the Community Corrections Council, transfers the Council budget to the Supreme Court, and transitions agency staff into a division of the Nebraska Commission on Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice (Crime Commission). The bill as adopted can be found at http://www.nebraskalegislature.gov/bills/view_bill.php?DocumentID=12131. The operative date of the sections in the bill affecting the Council was July 1, 2011. If you have any questions about LB 390 and its impact on the Council, please feel free to contact the Community Corrections Division staff at 402-471-2259.

The Council is committed to its mission to develop a continuum of community corrections programs and services throughout the state in order to relieve pressure on the state's correctional institutions, reduce recidivism, and protect public safety. This website is intended to serve as a resource for individuals across the state to acquire objective information about community corrections and monitor the Division's efforts and progress.
